Dear Tigershark Parents,

We’re thrilled that the 2023 Swim Season is almost here! This email provides you with everything you need to know for the start of the season. There are a few things that are DIFFERENT this season in the first week for those of you who are returning parents, so we ask that all parents please read it carefully and let us know if you have any questions. Additionally, check the team website here for the Swim Meet Schedule and other information needed for the season.

New Tigershark Swimmer Evaluations Monday, May 22: New swimmer evaluations will be held on Monday, May 22 using the following schedule. NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO PRACTICE FOR RETURNING TIGERSHARK SWIMMERS ON MONDAY, MAY 22.

3:30 - 3:55 pm 4 - 6 year olds

4:00 - 4:25 pm 7 - 8 year olds

5:00 - 5:25 pm 9 - 10 year olds

5:30 - 6:00 pm 11 & Older

This will ensure that each swimmer is sorted into the appropriate group at the start of the season since we anticipate more new swimmers than normal. 

Parents of new Tigershark swimmers will be notified by email Monday night or first thing Tuesday morning which group their swimmer(s) will be placed in for the start of the season.

Returning Tigershark Swimmer Placement: Since there was no Preswim this season, all returning Tigershark Swimmers should come to the practice group that they ENDED the season in last year unless you hear otherwise from a coach. Coach Nan, Coach Zolon, and I will assess and move swimmers up to the next group as soon they are ready. We always prefer to move a kid up rather than moving them down. Don’t hesitate to email me if you aren’t sure which group your swimmer ended the season in last year

Tuesday, May 23 - Friday, May 26: Practice starts for ALL swim team members. We follow the same schedule for the entire first week through Friday, May 26.

3:15 - 4:00 pm Rookies with Coach Nan and Coach Marion

4:00 - 5:00 pm Juniors with Coach Zolon and Coach Marion

5:00 - 6:00 pm PreSeniors and Seniors with Coach Zolon and Coach Marion

Wednesday, May 24: First Place Athletics Suit + Equipment Sale AND Required Parent/Guardian Meeting

3:00 - 6:00 pm: First Place Athletics will be on the pool patio with team suits, practice suits, and all equipment needed for the season. Parents should make arrangements to come NO LATER than 5:15 pm to ensure that you have time to complete your purchases before the team meeting starts. We encourage you to come earlier if possible, because this suit and equipment sale can be pretty hectic! NOTE: Your child will need to be dry and wearing a pair of underwear to try on suits.

6:00 pm: One parent or guardian per swim family is asked to attend this brief Parent Meeting. We’ll keep it as short as possible, but this meeting is extremely important!
